RIBGH is pleased to invite you to our 3rd Annual Healthcare Summit!  The RIBGH Annual Healthcare Summit provides the opportunity to learn and share healthcare strategies and network with employers from around the state. 

The Summit kicks off at 7:30 for breakfast and networking.  The formal program begins with a brief update of RIBGH activities and a discussion of the active roll RIBGH has developed with healthcare legislative issues.

Morning Session

  • Welcome from RIBGH Board
  • RIBGH Update on Legislative issues impacting healthcare – Linda Lulli
  • CurentCare initiative – Rhode Island Quality Institute, Laura Adams, CEO
  • RIBGH Broker and Consultant Advisory Committee – Current Care Sign Up Kit – Don Nokes
  • Health Insurer panel – Moderated questions
    • Representatives from Blue Cross, United, and Tufts will participate in a panel discussion focusing on “What is your company doing to help employers manage short and long term health care costs and engage employees in healthy behaviors?”  The panelists have been provided with a series of questions related to cost containment and improving engagement in healthy behaviors.  There will be time for questions from the audience.

  • H1N1 Preparations – What your business should be doing now to prepare for H1N1 Flu
    • Director RI Department of Health (David Gifford) for update (15 minutes)
    • Susan Morton, Senior Consultant, Reputational Risk and Crisis with MARSH will focus on what businesses can do to prepare and make contingency plans for H1N1 (45 minutes)
       
  • National healthcare reform update – Amy Bergner, attorney and Principal in Mercer’s Washington Resource Group will provide and up to the minute overview of the issues and implications for business.
