Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts and RI Health Insurance Commissioner Christopher Koller will also be available to address the potential implications this may have on State Healthcare Reform

Presented by:
RI Business Group on Health &
RI Society for Human Resource Management

November 9, 2009

Join members of RIBGH and RI SHRM as we welcome Senator Sheldon Whitehouse who will give us the latest update on the controversial topic of Healthcare Reform. The Senator, a member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee is a sponsor of  S. 1679, the Affordable Health Choices Act and has made reforming the health care system a hallmark of his career.

Senator Whitehouse founded the Rhode Island Quality Institute, which has promoted the use of healthcare information technology. While in the Senate he has sponsored bills aimed at encouraging health quality reforms, building a national health IT infrastructure, and linking health care payments to health care quality. The Senator continues to be a leader in promoting the national discussion on healthcare reform as well as the dialogue here in RI.

Please join us for what should be a very informative and lively discussion on the latest healthcare proposals and their impact on Rhode Islanders.
