| Quality Benefits at a
Reasonable Cost -- Can It Be Done? |
| Come hear how the Group
Insurance Commission of Massachusetts plans to do it for their
250,000 state employees, retirees, and their dependents |
The Rhode Island Business Group
on Health and Mercer Health & Benefits invite you to a attend
a breakfast meeting on December 14th to hear how our neighbors
in Massachusetts are improving the quality and efficiency
of healthcare in their state – and talk with our state
leadersabout how we might be able to accomplish the same
thing in Rhode Island.
Dolores L. Mitchell, Executive Director of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Group Insur-
ance
Commission (GIC) will introduce us to their groundbreaking
efforts to end the cycle of plan design changes
and cost-shifting in favor of an improved health care
delivery system for their members, at a reasonable cost.
Come hear Dolores discuss
the GIC’s Clinical
Performance Improvement (CPI) initiative, a sweeping
change in which the GIC partners with Health Plans
to aggregate data, make provider comparisons publicly
available, and encourage their members to be more
involved in their health care decisions.
Dolores will be joined by Dr. David Gregg, Principal
with Mercer Health & Benefits, who will discuss
how all Rhode Island employers could benefit from
initiatives like CPI, where Health Plans implement
solutions driven by the State to benefit the commercial
market.
This presentation will be followed by a panel
discussion with our speakers along with Rhode Island
State officials to discuss how we can explore a similar
initiative in Rhode Island.
Please join us for this timely and important discussion.
